Redwoods Altitude Disclosure of Risk

With every adventure activity there is always an element of personal responsibility and a level of risk. Accordingly, it is imperative that you read, understand and acknowledge the following Terms and Conditions before participating in this activity:

At Redwoods Altitude we comply with and adhere to NZ Law and a comprehensive safety management plan for our activities, where the priority is to take all practical steps to provide you with the safest and highest quality experience possible.

However, in the environment we operate in and by the nature of the tour we provide, we cannot with absolutely certainty guarantee your personal safety or the safety of your personal property whilst on tour.

The activities offered by Redwoods Altitude, include but are not limited to, navigating suspended walkways, bridges, ziplines and belays and inherently involve risks and potential hazards.

The hazards and risks you may be exposed to include but are not limited to uneven terrain, moving bridges and platforms, trips and slips, falls from height, vertigo, suspension trauma, equipment failure and injury, ranging from minor to serious, or death.

The activity may be both mentally and physically challenging and operates at a height up to 30 meters off the ground.

We will take all practical precautions to provide the safest experience possible. However, by agreeing to participate in this activity, you are acknowledging that 100% of the risk cannot be eliminated and your safety cannot be guaranteed.

Is the Treewalk Wheelchair Accessible?

Unfortunately, the Treewalk is not wheelchair accessible due to the narrow bridges and steps on and off the platforms. However, any persons in a wheelchair are welcome to access the 50 metre starting spiral ramp free of charge.

Can Infants & Children Treewalk?

Yes, absolutely! However, infants and children cannot be carried on shoulders, in front or back carriers or pushed in prams on the Treewalk as this presents a safety issue and is our policy. All participants on the Treewalk must be able to walk the entire 700 metres unaided.

We have special strollers available for infants and children and if you require a stroller, please be aware that this might slow down your entry onto the walk as we have a limited number of strollers and these are available on a first come, first served basis for all Treewalk ticket holders requiring one.

Our strollers are thoroughly cleaned between each use.

Are Dogs Allowed on the Treewalk?

Unfortunately, dogs are not allowed (this excludes registered service dogs) on Treewalk or Altitude as there are many moving parts, which pose a risk to the dogs paws. Also, not everyone is a dog person, so we need to respect the comfort of other guests too.

However, the forest is dog-friendly (dogs must be on leashes in most areas) so one person could stay with the dog while others in a group participate in the Treewalk or Altitude walk.

There is also a dog park opposite the Treewalk where you can run dogs off leash.

Do You Sell Gift Vouchers?

We sure do! Gift vouchers can be purchased online in a variety of denominations and are issued as e-tickets to either the purchaser or directly to the recipient. From the purchase date, vouchers are valid for up to 12-months. Please note that gift vouchers are only available for purchase online through our website and are not available for purchase at the i-SITE’s.

Those moody forest mornings! Many more to come as winter approaches 😍🥶
On the 29 February we shone bright and orange for #rarediseaseday 🧡

It’s not rare to have a rare disorder. In Aotearoa, more than 300,000 people live with one of over 7,000 rare disorders - and more than half of those affected are children.

Living with a condition that not many other have or know about can feel isolating, so we shone brightly to show our support and aroha for the rare disease community 🧡🧡🧡 #glowupshowup #rarediseasemonth

  • Coolest place ever! We went at dusk so did half of the walk in the day time and the other half in the semi dark when all the night lights were on! Was such a beautiful walk and loved every moment! The staff were super informative and nice. I will definitely be back in the future!

  • The Redwood Forest is just stunning... The lights are just incredible and it is such a beautiful thing to be walking so high in the trees. We also went back the next day and walked around the forest - still gorgeous. Would definitely recommend.

  • This is a highlight in Rotorua. Super friendly and helpful staff. Amazing walk high through the trees. Take the high road if you dare! It's worth it.

  • The Redwoods Altitude tree walk is beyond amazing! It was the highlight of our tiki tour of the North Island, and if you’re a wee bit terrified of heights, it was life changing. We felt so safe while being challenged well beyond our comfort zones. The guides are great, very encouraging.

  • "perfection" This experience was a true 10/10 for us. The perspective and views it offers of the grove are spectacular and unique. The actual bridge crossings and zip-lining very quickly went from potential impediments to accentuating the experience. Our guides, Jordan and Nicole, were the absolute best. If you were on the fence, go for this one. It's incredibly clear that the altitude team is there to make sure your experience will be like ours -- spectacularly unforgettable.
